Spring is here… Finally!

So spring is finally here and just like clockwork, the cherry in my backyard is blooming. This unfortunately means another two and a half months of rain (welcome to Seattle), but it’s pretty none the less.

2009 LWTC Plant Sale

Sun, happy customers and lots and lots of plants. It’s been a great year but it time to usher our little rooted friends out the door. No more watering… Yea! Thanks to everyone for making it so successful and so fun.

Landscape Design 101

File this one under landscape design dont’s. The Blockbuster video near my house has a classic problem with the circulation near their front door. They have a sidewalk that extends 15 ft to the right of the door, but no direct access path. So what happens when you don’t give people what they need? The take it. In this case, they’ve cut right through the Laurel hedge and made their own path. If you don’t pay attention to functional circulaton in the landscape, you will regret it in the long run. Check out the pictures below to see what I mean.
